Newbourne Tractor Run Contact
Ron Fellgett 01473 712454

The Newbourne Tractor Run is an annual event which takes place in August and starts from Newbourne near Ipswich Suffolk and, each year, raises considerable amounts of money for charity.

Until 2007 the event had been run by John Couch, a long time member of the society and a resident of Newbourne. However, John packed up house and
home (and old tractors) and moved to New Zealand.
It was thought the event may now have to finish but fortunately for all concerned Ron Fellgett stepped in to keep the event alive.

The actual run takes approximately 3 hours and the drivers need a minimum sponsorship of £10 (2007 figure) all of which goes to Charity. To finish off the day a sausage supper is organised at the village hall for all drivers and members of the public.

Working Day

Grove Farm Great Henny Sudbury Suffolk

The annual working day is held at Grove Farm Great Henny near Sudbury in Suffolk on the First Sunday
in October. This very informal event is a perfect end of season finale and is very popular with Society members who bring their working tractors, stationary engines or other farm machinery to put them through their paces. There are many enthusiasts who have a restored tractor and implement but often to not have the opportunity to work them on a true farm environment, the Working Day allows such members to use and work their machines as they were built to do.

Many members regard this as a play day but there always some real experts who will plough to the highest competition standards. Everyone is welcome to bring a machine to this event, you do not have to be a member of the society, but of course the usual insurance requirements apply.

If you want to just come and watch then you will be sure of a welcome.
There is no admission charge but contributions to Henny church are appreciated.
